Good Morning Race Fans. Kansas has brought some thrilling races to us with the Next Gen car, and yesterday may have been the best.

Larson Robs Win from Buescher in NASCARs closest finish ever

Ten weeks after the wild three wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway, we just witnessed the closest ever finish in NASCAR history with an official winning margin of 0.001 seconds. Chris Buescher and Kyle Larson led the way in overtime, banging doors within the last few hundred yards before Kyle Larson took the win by an INCH. The finish was so close the scoring monitor originally had Buescher as the race winner. While the 17 team was happily celebrating NASCAR then declared the 5 car the race winner after a photo review.

The race started off extremely clean, with no cautions caused by wrecks during the first 2 stages. Denny Hamlin won stage 1 and Buescher took stage 2. Then things got busy in stage 3 which saw 5 cautions and changed everyones planned strategies.

Denny Hamlin had a healthy lead out front at the end of the race but Martin Truex Jr. was approaching quickly. It was looking like it was going to be a good battle between the two JGR teammates until Kyle Busch spun with less than 10 laps remaining to throw a caution, ultimately sending the race to overtime.
