The 2022 Cup Series champion is back in the winners circle for the first time in 42 races after taking the checkered flag in double overtime. In a race that saw a Texas Motor Speedway record of 16 caution flags, drivers struggled to keep the next gen cars from spinning.

Denny Hamlin was leading late in the race when a caution led to an overtime with Elliott and Hamlin on the front row. Hamlin ultimately spun from the outside lane falling to the back of the pack and causing another overtime. Elliott was able to take the lead in 2nd overtime and go on to win.

Kyle Larson started on pole and looked to have the dominant car while leading 77 laps and taking his pole position all the way to a stage 1 win. Then everything changed when the No. 5 cars right rear wheel went flat and completely came off on lap 116 during caution. The dominant No. 5 team faced a 2 lap penalty and was unable to make its way back to the front of the race.
