Hamlin Secures Playoff Spot after Chaotic Bristol Race

Denny Hamlin claims his first win of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway in dominant fashion. The veteran driver used his long time experience to his advantage as he was able to save his tires and fend off teammate Martin Truex Jr to claim his 52nd Cup Series victory. The two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers finished 1-2 in another race that was dominated by JGR and Toyota cars.
The biggest story of the wildly entertaining race was the excessive tire wear that limited drivers all afternoon. The tire fall off caught many off-guard, including NASCAR who issued each team an extra set of tires mid way through the race.
The chaotic race that saw a short track record of 54 lead changes did not disappoint fans, who saw constant action throughout the entirety of the 500 lap race. Many fans showed their excitement of the race on X, including Dale Jr. who was loving all of it.
